My name is Dorothy Ackroyd and I write cozy mysteries set in San Francisco and the Sierra foothills.
I was born and raised in New England. I studied creative writing in college. After graduation, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and went on to have a fairly successful career in business, as well as raising my family. I have two great kids who are now off having their own adventures.
Writing came back into my life when the kids went to college. I most enjoy writing cozy mysteries because they are the kinds of stories I most enjoy reading. Imagining crimes and writing about them fill my days.
My spouse and I also enjoy spending our weekends exploring Northern California. There are so many beautiful places and wonderful people here. We especially love tasting the wines which are abundant in the area.
When I get really stressed, nothing beats going to the beach and dipping my toes in the cold, cold Pacific Ocean.
